Ethan is 30 inches tall

Ethan had his one year old doctor appointment on the 9th. He only weighs 19.9 but he is 30 inches tall. So we will have his AFP level drawn next week and then we should know the outcome the next week. Hopefully the level will be less than 20. I will post the level when I find out what it.

So Ethan is one...

So Ethan had his first birthday. We had what turned out to be a big birthday party on the 23rd of August. It was a blast. Ethan had fun but didn't really know why everyone was there. At first he just turned in a complete circle and was looking at all of his family and friends. He has never seen everyone in the same place at one time. We are very blessed to have him and I now know what was missing in my life. I look forward to the rest.

So We Are Nearing One

So Ethan's birthday is fast approaching and a flood of memories keeps coming to me of how just one year ago he was this little boy that I had just met and was getting to know. But now he is this toddler that can walk and talk and definately has a mischeivious personality with a sense of silly. You always hear how fast your childrens lifes pass you by and you really don't know until you experience it. Well I will post new pictures from the birthday party.

Better news

So we got Ethan's latest AFP level back and it was 46.6. I was so overjoyed I cried. Now <20 is normal but coming from 107 to 46.6 is great. We will have it redrawn after Ethan turns 1 and I bet it will be normal. Yea!!!

On another note Ethan is walking. These little milestones are so fun to watch. It makes me so proud of him when I see him achieve something. Luckily he has accomplished everything when we are at home together. I am so happy to have him in my life. My little guy.

Sorry for the Bad Momma Blogging

Sorry so long since the last post. Well Ethan's result came off at 106 for his last AFP blood draw. The doctor is now referring us over to a hematologist and I have been trying to cordinate our schedule with the doctor.
Ethan is crawling now. He is into everything and everywhere.
I will have to post a new pic later.

Update

So we had Ethan's blood drawn today. We had the same lady at Cook's draw it and he cried but other than that is went smoothly. The last time they told me it would be 2 weeks before we knew anything. As soon as we know something I will let everyone know.
Ethan has passed through all his cereals and veggies. He is rolling over both ways and getting ready to crawl. He says momma, dadda, and papa.

The latest News

So the doctor doesn't know what is going on with Ethan. His AFP is continuing to climb but no other abnormalities other than that. Chris and I have decided that we are going to have the AFP leave reran one more time after Ethan is 6 months old and if it has gone up again we want to do the MRI. The doctor said he would order it, if it eased my mind.

Latest Blood Draw

So we went to Cook's in Fort Worth on Thursday and they drew his blood no problem. It took less than 2 minutes. Ethan cried a little but no screaming as if he were being murdered. I was so relieved. I just wanted to kiss that phlebotomist. And the rest of the staff over there was so nice. Although I liked those people lets hope we don't have to see them ever again. We are just waiting on results now. I will post when we hear something. Thank you to everyone who is concerned about us and please for those of you who are praying keep it up.

So we have been dealing with doctor visits and tests lately. I noticed that Ethan was growing hair on his testicles and when we visited the doctor for his 4 month checkup I mentioned it to the doctor and come to find that it is not normal. She checked him out and we then had to go for a testicular ultrasound because she found a lump. His bloodwork came back as he has a high amount of testosterone in his system and his ultrasound showed that the lump is a hydrocele. Well we are going to have to do more bloodwork to see if he possibly has cancer and the hydrocele we are going to watch until he is one years old and if it has not resolved itself he is going to have to have surgery. Pray for us.
